This is my favorite CC book since Perfect Imperfections Not a Game is fluffier than an angora sweater and sweeter than key lime pie Highlights one Oliver geeky chubby game designer who’s hopelessly insecure one Jaime sexy successful and willing to teach Oliver everything he knows about giving and receiving pleasure AGE GAP Jaime is 40 to Oliver’s 28; I do love me the silver foxes a “twist” that’s obvious almost immediately to the reader but not to Oliver it doesn’t matter that we see the twist coming; this is a romance novel not a mystery and the twist keeps the spark in the story not one but THREE little dogs steam sexual exploration aplenty Oliver is an almost virgin and wants to try it all with Jaime who’s a very patient teacher Shout from the rooftops kind of HEAOne of my very favorite things about this story is that Oliver is not a cookie cutter MC with high cheekbones and washboard abs He tops 290 pounds at 6’2” Jaime happens to be attracted to husky men and loves Oliver’s body but Oliver has a hard time believing Jaime's sincerity I was prepared for Oliver to lose weight and then all svelte and gorgeous get his HEA but that’s not what happened This was such a refreshing take on the typical romance novel There was potential for relationship drama but faced with Jaime's confession Oliver reacts like a mature adult instead of throwing a hissy fit Can I get a hallelujah? I adored Oliver’s amiable shy personality and his willingness to put himself out there for Jaime And Jaime is a dream caring and thoughtful and completely crazy about Oliver These two are so RIGHT for one another I had a huge grin on my face the entire time I was reading this book If you’re looking for a dose of SWEET SEXY don’t miss this story

Cardeno C gets cuteness RIGHT And I'm along for the ride Man I adored this book If you are in the mood for low angst total fluff then you've come to the right place Cardeno C and I have an interesting relationship I'm a HUGE CC fan but I've had VERY strong negative reactions and some VERY strong positive reactions to CC's books This book was definitely in the postitive camp I've actually read a few books with similar set ups before Thinking that a guy that you met at a bar is the escort that you've hired but really he is a random person who is interested in you yup been there done that However I still love that premise It just sets up the right amount of tension and it usually leads to some fabulous sexy times What I liked most about this book is that for once we get an MC who is plus sized and another MC who is into it I usually see MM books with a slim lithe build or muscles for days but rarely do we get an overweight MC who is really and truly desired for their exact body type I dug it I dug it a LOT I also have a weakness for an inexperienced MC who gets schooled in the art of sex or gets to discover hisher hidden animal What? I'm pervy like that I adored Oliver's enthusiasm and his adorable dorkiness He was so sensual and so present during sexy times and I loved how CC wrote him Sure this book is a little unrealistic and sure it's low angst to the point of fantasy but I still LOVED it for what it was It was the perfect hot pick me up read for when you need to escape into romance Keep going with your bad self Cardeno C I'm loving it Copy provided in exchange for an honest review

sighing heartily and dreamilyOh Oliver I love you And Jaime You're sooooo kind and loving Such a sweet plot adorable characters amazing supporting characters I just There isn't much I have to say you see because it was a very subtle story The ups and downs weren't so dramatic because both the main characters were amazingly very mature and didn't argue after jumping to conclusions Oliver had gone so far down the getting self confident road that he had bravely trusted his feelings for Jaime and decided to see how the things were going to happen rather than simply judging him for his actions and declaring him guilty I loved the story And I JUST CAN'T wait to read Jack's story next view spoilerMaybe with Craig? ; hide spoiler

This is a perfectly fluffy low angst feel good romance that I read twice in a row And I loved every minuteOliver Barnaby is 6'2 290 pounds and self conscious about being husky and inexperienced Now that he's moved to Seattle from Oklahoma he's ready to get some experience so he can become the new Oliver I want Seattle me to be different than Oklahoma me I have this great job now I make enough to pay for my own place I got a new car But I’m not any closer to having a boyfriend The moment Jaime sees Oliver he's smitten Oliver is exactly Jaime's type Everything that Oliver finds wanting in himself mostly his physical appearance calls to Jaime like a siren's song “It took me a lot of years to figure out what does it for me and I’m past the point in my life where I’m willing to pretend” Making sure he held Oliver’s attention he slowly lowered his hands unfastened Oliver’s pants and reached into his boxers “I love your body” He wrapped his fingers around Oliver’s erection and started stroking “I love pressing myself against you” He moved his fist up and down not uickly but not slowly either “Your thick thighs your full ass and yes your round stomach all make me insanely hot” One of the many things that I absolutely love about the story is the misunderstanding that is obvious to the reader that fuels most of Oliver and Jaime's early encounters I cheered when the truth comes to light and the most wonderful thing happensthey work it out like mature adultsI love how perfectly Oliver and Jaime mesh and how sexy they are togetherBut my most favorite thing about this story is that Oliver doesn't magically drop all his extra weight in order to get his HEA with Jaime No he's perfect for Jaime just the way he is and Jaime loves him extra weight and all “You’re beautiful you know that?”“You make me feel like that could be true” Oliver said uietlyJaime curled his hand around Oliver’s nape and brushed their lips together “It is true” This is a perfect romance for anyone looking for a lighter low angst feel good story with great characters hot sex and a perfect sigh worthy endingHighly Recommended Advanced Review Galley copy of Not A Game provided by the author in exchange of an honest review This review has been cross posted at Gay Book Reviews

45 sweeter than honey stars It's only my second audio but I can honestly admit I am in love with Michael Ferraiuolo's voice I had this one on my radar for a long time but for reasons I wasn't that curious about it It's my first book by this author and I'm sorry I've waited so long to read it Now I can't wait to read I'm rating it with 45 stars because I couldn't stop listening And I don't usually enjoy stories low on angst I'm really not easily won by a sweet story But I was with this one It has something to do with Oliver's shyness and all about Jamie's perfection The perfect boyfriend and some I loved everything about this book The characters are so different yet they were exactly what the other needed I enjoyed their first interactions their first dates the reveal of the truth and oh the sweetest ending sigh

45 StarsWhat can I say about this except that it was pretty darn awesome? Literally this had it all loveable MC’s great smex wonderful feels and no dramaInsecure Oliver has made it big in his eyes He’s moved from his small town life gotten a job he loves and he’s determined to start things off right On his to do list is to be outgoing make some friends and find someone to share his life withAs the blurb says “an accidental meeting and a misunderstanding” throws Oliver onto the path of Jaime Successful gorgeous and eually looking for that someone special these two connect immediately And howThis was completely sweet and swoony and sexy It had emotions and feels and a touch of that twisty angst I love And I wholeheartedly appreciate that this did not devolve into crazy frustrating and unnecessary melodrama Hallelujah A complete and total fluff bomb of fabulous I dare you to not like this

425 Stars 90% of this book may have taken place in a bedroom or on its way to the bedroom but it was 100% about the heart of the characters This sort of book is CC's sweet spot and I loved every page

I waited to post my rating and review until I had the time to read this book a second time to see if my first impression was just skewed Unfortunately I liked it even less the second time aroundI'm trying to explain why that is because I don't want to let my poor rating stand on its own but I'm not sure how successful I will be So I apologize in advance if I don't make much sense and for the need for a few spoilers And I have to say that among my GR friends I'm the odd one out regarding this book so you certainly shouldn't let my opinion prevent you from reading itThere were two main things in this book that threw me off and spoiled what I'm sure was supposed to be a sweet endearing romanceFirst Oliver's response and reaction when he finds out view spoilerthat Jamie lied to him about who he really was hide spoiler
